Dirk Gently's Hollistic Detective Agency

Because, quite honestly the BBC TV show isn't even close. I know now what people mean when they look at say, Lem's Solaris and say "why did Clooney's Solaris remove all the thinking parts?" The BBC tv show has turned Adam's book into some bizarre Doctor Who-meets-Coupling. Quite stupid, and even worse, bereft of any sort of philosophical meaning. They couldn't even costume the lead character correctly.

So if you must have a modern adaptation of Dirk, and weren't able to go to the play, then try the radio show.

Thankfully, I have the audiobook, read by the author himself.
